Looking for a male or female to move into a beautiful, comfy, quiet, & clean Davis Square apartment.

******* Who WE are *******

We are Andrea, Ian, and Matt – ages 22, 25, and 26. We live, go to school, and work in the area. If you are vegetarian and looking for sympathetic people, this is the place for you. Ian and Matt are both vegan and love to cook. Andrea and Ian are grad students at MIT and Matt works in financial services.

We are clean and responsible, but we know how to relax and have fun. If you are a professional, academic, or all-in-all interesting individual who is looking for similar roommates, this may be your lucky day. We are interested in social issues, world affairs, and removing that monster from the whitehouse. We're liberal, open-minded, and friendly to different lifestyle choices.

We enjoy having people over for dinner, guests for the weekend, occasional parties (bbq'ing in the summer!), and going out. Sometimes we cook and eat together with wine and deep discussion. On a good week, that could happen more than once.

******* Who YOU are *******

Active man or woman, in your twenties or early 30s. Responsible and financially secure enough to pay bills on time. You must be able to comfortably afford rent and security deposit. A grad student or busy employed person with diverse interests would be great. We don't smoke and don't permit smoking inside. We are neither alcoholics or anything else-oholics. Neither are you. Have you had a maid your whole life and don't know how what clorox is? Keep looking (unless you oppose harsh chemicals for environmental reasons). Do you clean bathrooms, dishes, and yourself? We can talk! Do you recycle without having to be reminded? Are you an artist or musician? Are you creative or crafty and non-materialistic? Those would score extra points. Do you like nature, travel, and exercise? We could use your influence. Do you want to make your house a home (even if it's just for a year)? Excellent.

******* The apartment *******

The house is big and well furnished: 2 living rooms, 1 dining room, large kitchen, 4 bedrooms, and one bathroom. The apartment spans the second and third floor and has ample storage space in the basement and attics. The common areas are downstairs and the bedrooms are upstairs.

The first floor neighbors are two professionals from Argentina. We rent the house together on one lease, but have separate units. You couldn't ask for more generous and friendly neighbors!

There is a covered front porch and open back porch surrounded by a grassy backyard. We have cable TV (free, but we don't watch it), cable modem, ethernet in every room, a wireless network, and speakers throughout the house/backyard (great for dinner parties). Free washer/dryer on the 2nd floor and clothes lines in the backyard.

******* The area *******

The Davis Sq. area is a very happening place. The apartment is a five minute brisk walk to the T-stop (three blocks away) on a quiet residential tree-lined street. We can be at MIT and Cambridge in 15 minutes or downtown Boston in 20. If you drive, you'll find easy access to routes 95 and 93.

In Davis square there are a number of good local cafes, the famous Somerville Theatre (live music and indie films), restaurants, bars, local food markets, bookstores, and a nice plaza. Although the area is lively, it is not as commercialized as Harvard Square or as impersonal as Central Square. You could take out insurance, get a haircut, go out to dinner, see a movie, catch a drink and watch live blues artists just minutes away from the apartment.

Leading out of Davis is the minuteman bike trail that leads ~15 miles northwest out of the city along a reclaimed rail line. The trail leads through several towns, wooded areas and past a nice lake. It's very popular during the summer. Make sure you get a bike! You're only 2 minutes from the bike path (via bicycle of course).

Your new home is fun and safe!

******* The situation *******

Ian and Matt have been living in the apartment for almost 3 years and Andrea is brand new to the place as of this month. Our fourth (and also brand new) housemate had to move out unexpectedly for financial reasons before signing the lease. We’re looking to fill that empty room by August 1, so please email us as soon as possible. If you need a later move in date, we can negotiate. Thank you!

We can show the place whenever it's convenient for you. Please write us and tell us who you are, what you are into, and so on! We are really excited about making our *home* as comfortable as possible. I hope you can come and be a part of it!

Aw, this sounds so perfect! I wish it had come along earlier, as I've already found a place. Good luck in your search.
