I'd like to buy a sled today for some preschool-aged kids I know. It doesn't have to be fancy - your basic plastic model with handles or grips is just fine. So far I've checked with Stellabella, Tags, Shaw's, and Target, and no one has them. Well, Tags and Shaws has these weird rolled-up plastic "sheets," that I guess you can sled on, but that's really not what I'm going for.
Has anyone seen or bought sleds around here recently? I do have a car, although I'm sure driving will be an adventure today. :)

Date: 2008-12-21 09:13 pm (UTC)K-B Toys is liquidating. I don't know if they have sleds in stock, but call them and ask. The closest ones to here are in the Cambridgeside Galleria and the Burlington Mall.

Date: 2008-12-21 10:19 pm (UTC)We ventured out in the car earlier today (it actually wasn't too bad), and went to Balich's 5 and 10 in Arlington. What a weird throw-back of a store with a mish-mash of randomness. I was commenting on how it seemed so old-fashioned to be called a 5 and 10, but the layout and wares were perfect in their "5-and-10-ness."
Anyway, they had a ton of sleds, if anyone else needs any. I bought a two-seater which is large enough for an adult and child. They also had individual saucers, old style wood and metal ones, and even infant pull-sleds complete with seatbeat harness. Great selection and the prices seemed reasonable.
Thanks for all of your ideas, everyone!
