Dude, don't even know how many raptors are around in these parts. Hoverboards, sadly, are a bit scarcer.

Are we talking regular, run of the mill hoverboards here, or Back to the Future II hoverboards?

From: [identity profile] rikchik.livejournal.com
I did a "Raptors on Hoverboards" google search as soon as I saw that, just to bring up the numbers.

(The author of xkcd lives around here, in case anyone isn't familiar with the comic.)

Actually, it's Randall Monroe's fault... He lives here, and is obsessed with both Raptors and hoverboards...

I'm a LITTLE surprised he isn't part of some LJ community... but I think that we'd all be fan-boy-ing and fan-girl-ing him to death...

[livejournal.com profile] xkcd exists but isn't a member of [livejournal.com profile] davis_square or any other geographically-based LJ community.

if you hover your mouse over the comics, there are secret messages, by the way

But you have to go back to the original xkcd page for that, because the alt text didn't copy over to LJ. Also, my Firefox truncates that text ;-(

you can write it in with alt or title text.
it's usually the best part too.

If you are going to take drugs in the middle of the day, you have to bring enough to share with everyone.

The Firefox plugin "Long Titles" fixes the problem with truncated alt-text.

Really, the best way is to upgrade to firefox 3. Firefox 2 is (as of Dec. 18) no longer getting security updates, so you wanna anyway.

From: [identity profile] readsalot.livejournal.com
If you don't want to upgrade to Firefox 3 (which is the easiest way, as [livejournal.com profile] mattdm_org said), just go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1715 (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1715) and follow the instructions.

IF you have a mac - turn on voice over and tab over to the image. Screen readers (freebie easy one being VO on a mac) read the alt tags (which is why WCAG 2 requires/politely requests that all sites include alt tags) and truncated tags.
My fandom exists in tags.

This hover-over text (http://xkcd.com/253/) is from his first(?) visit to look for an apartment. IIRC, he also posted links to maps of Inman Square, the Riverway/Jamaicaway/Hellmouth intersection up by Longwood, and the Storrow/Mem Dr I-93 ramp.
