Christmas Tree disposal

I remember last year putting my tree out after Christmas and it wasn't picked up. Does anyone know if they will take a tree if it is out on the curb with the trash tomorrow? I couldn't find anything on the Somerville site.

I could just haul it out the ten feet it would take to get it to the curb, but then having to haul it back if it isn't gone tomorrow would be annoying.

I don't know if this helps, but here's last year's post on the subject. Did you call the city after they failed to pick up last year's tree?

I suspect it's a bit early to put trees curbside. Don't you have to wait until the Epiphany to dismantle the bush?

I would think that the tree recycling program again, though it's not usually until January. I would call 311 to see if they have details yet.

Thanks, I was about to post this. I actually checked the city website BEFORE getting my tree, since one of the places I lived in previously made you bring it to the dump, all by your lonesome :)

Why do you ask if you should haul it out to the curb? Where are you leaving it now? I would suggest that it be left at the curb with regular trash/recyclables in order to insure it is picked up.

I called the city because my tree wasn't picked up. They won't be picking up trees until January, and when that happens, it won't go in the regular trash truck, but will be taken by the special tree truck that'll mulch everything up.
