Guru has been the subject of posts here and there.

They renovated the place next door. Their menu and hours haven't changed, but now you don't have to wait in line out in the cold to get your food. I think it looks pretty nice. The food is just as delicious as ever. I highly recommend it.

It's on Broadway between Teele Sq and Clarendon Hill.

That's great news! Do you happen to remember the hours, and do they have a web site? I guess this is their website. Do they have sit-down seating now?

As compared to stand-up seating? :)

Zing! Though I have been to take-out places and food courts that do have stand-up "seating".

Nice! I don't get round that way very often anymore, but I love their food and stop by whenever I'm in the area.

I love Guru. I wish them health and success in the bigger location.

is there a menu online anywhere for them?

i was wondering the same thing, but i guess because what they offer rotates they might not. still, i'd just like to see, say, a sampling of typical meals and prices. they have the weekday delivery prices and an idea of what you get on the website ron linked to, which i guess must be similar.

yea, i'm more interested in the prices. being an indian restaurant, i can kind of guess what kind of food to expect.

that's pretty awesome. there's a good place [livejournal.com profile] jedi and i order from on foodler, but it always seems like we blow so much money, without appetizers even.

Actually I can't tell what kind of food to expect. It looks great but I don't want to walk in there and try to get something with flavor an instead find only "hey we got chicken tikka masala you white people like that rite?"

based on their best-in-somerville reviews on yelp, i'm gonna guess that's not the case.

People in general don't like food with strong flavors; most people around here, sad to say, are looking for food that is familiar above all else. 500 5-star reviews raving about the "tikki marsala" aren't so informative.

(Which isn't to say I am somehow complaining about this place when I don't even know what the food is like.)

Their Plaak Paneer is the best I've ever had. It has a real spice to it, not just bland creamed spinach with chunks of paneer.

i think the menu changes everyday. you just go in and say, like, 'i want the vegetarian combo' or the chicken combo or whatever. it's delicious though and priced really well. plus it's close to #1 on yelp for the boston area. can't really go wrong with it. this is not the golden light!

ohhhh golden light. how i've sat in the dark while entirely way too inebriated on multiple occasions to avoid giving thee away to authorities that you were open at 3am so that i could get chicken wings, boneless spareribs, and house lo mein.
