Greetings,

Looking for recommendations for the most-fun 80s night in the Boston area; I've heard Manray is alright on Saturday nights, but have not actually experienced it. Does anybody know what the vibe is like?

I don't have a vehicle so am looking for somewhere on this side of the river. Other places I've heard of are Axis' "Lushlife" on Saturday nights, and "Love Night" somewhere in Allston....

So far, Mayray seems to be the top pick, but I would much prefer an underground/smaller/local club.

On a different note: (no pun intended)
Looking to purchase a digital or acoustic piano, can anyone recommend a piano shop within 10 miles that have a decent selection of keys that I could try out? Most acoustic shops don't have a great selection of digitals, and places like Guitar Center normally don't carry the particular digital that I'm looking to test (Yamaha YDP223). As an alternative, there there practice rooms for rent in the area?

think i'll check out manray this saturday night, if i'm able to twist my roommate's arm to have him join me. might even venture down to axis next weekend.
side note: (checked out your list of concerts) my favorite 80s night was in florida, and cruxshadow's lead singer ('rogue,' i think? this was a few years back) used to spin there when i was a regular. he was fantastic.

THe Cruxshadows are coming back to Manray on September 15th :) Yes, Rogue is their [hot] singer - I first saw them in '97 and I've been a fan ever since - probably because they remind me so much of a certain 80's band I was enamoured with - Information Society.
