Anyone have a recommended place for getting tasty bagels in the area?
Many thanks!
Edit: Wow, thank you all for your suggestions, humorous and serious alike! (What a great lj community!) My boyfriend and I ended up stopping at Magnificent Muffins to give them a try (thanks also to closetalker who mentioned their 12pm closing time!). This'll definitely make a great reference for us and our bagel wants/needs. :) (I've never tried bagels in Montreal before, though if I ever find myself there again, I certainly will!)

Date: 2009-01-07 04:11 pm (UTC)I'm a bagel fanatic and don't eat them outside New York (where I'm from) or Montreal (where my family is from). I have never found the imported H&H bagels to be as good as real H&H. Something is screwed up on the trip from 80th and Broadway. My real favorite New York bagel place was Columbia Hot Bagels at 110th and Broadway, which is no longer there. My other favorite is a place in a strip mall off the LIE in Little Neck.

Date: 2009-01-07 04:20 pm (UTC)My wife (who grew up in Massachusetts) didn't believe me about NY bagels until she tried one. Now, whenever we go visit my family, she insists that we stop and pick up bagels on the way home.
