The question I didn't expect to hear today: Do you know anyone who wants a pug?

My friend has inadvertently wound up with a pug. A three-year-old male pug, to be precise. Apparently someone she works with, through a backwards sort of thing, owned the dog. But now she has taken on temporary guardianship of this little fellow, but won't be able to keep him on at her home (a couple of cats, see). She has found a pug rescue organization, but is putting out the call to see if anyone has been looking for a pug or has been considering looking for one.

In terms of details about the little guy, I don't have them, but I would be able to hook prospective pug parents (pugrents?) up with my friend. Feel free to post a comment or message me!

In other news, balls it's cold. How's everyone holding up?

I messaged for my mother who has been trying to find a small dog for a bit now...she had to put her dog to sleep in September (he had terrible seizures for the 3 yrs he was alive) and is now ready for another dog.

The other half would kill me if I got a 3rd dog! lol

What's funny about your comment is that last night it was a guy remarked that it was 'as cold as tit."

I guess "cold as the other gender's exposed plumbing" hasn't got the same ring.

You know, the other day my cousin and I started (jokingly) saying "PUCKS!" where one might say "BALLS!" because we are hockey fans. And now I'm realizing that if we also replace "cold as balls" with "cold as pucks," that would actually kind of make sense since, you know, hockey is played on ice. So pucks are cold.

Thank you for inspiring this revelation.

I wish I could take another pug - I would do it! Pug rescue is a good way to go, it is how I have gotten all of my pugs. Hope he finds a forever home soon.

Actually, breed rescue people are usually the best way to go. Some breeds have special needs, that the random person saying "oh, I want a dog and pugs are so CUUTE!" might not realize that owning a pug means that your critter will have respiratory problems their entire life, and snore like a drunken soldier every night. They also get very Cold in winter, That's all I can think of right now, but I'm sure that a pug rescue group would know how to best find a good home for this critter.

If you do give it away via this livejournal, then the new owner should at least contact the pug rescue folks, and get tips how to deal with their new home addition. Even all vets don't know all the idiosyncracies of every dog breed, so they aren't as reliable in that regard as other experienced pug owners.

You know, I was doing okay.

Until I made the mistake of looking at what the weather's doing in Denver (I lived there for a couple years). Then I got all petulant and started really feeling sorry for me and everyone else out here in the frozen wastes of the east :( Even Minnesota's current temperatures don't cheer me now.
