Anyone know if Davis Square eateries are hosting inauguration viewings for lunchtime today? (Other than the PDS party at Orleans.)

I didn't get the impression that was a PDS-specific thing, BTW. It's hosted by the elected state rep and state senator. True, they were both PDS-endorsed candidates, but they're the current officeholders, and they didn't say anything about this being a PDS party. It's a "Somerville legislators-hosted party" I guess.

That's really weird. The sign-in sheet I got had columns where you could check off whether you wanted either Pat's newsletter or Denise's or both. Nobody suggested that I had to check either of them.

I wasn't asked to sign anything at all.

Unlike the two folks directly above, I was asked to sign in. I already get the newsletters so it wasn't a big deal. I think I saw the incident that [livejournal.com profile] laryu described, around 11:50? There were two men who entered together who did not want to sign in.

I was in Davis and bars weren't opening until 11:30. I said screw it and came home.

I was at Orleans before then, and walked by PJ Ryan's on the way, which was also proclaiming OPEN.

Had a great time. :)

I didn't head that far down. Redbones, Sligo, the Burren, and Josua Tree were all closed when I was there.

Hmm, Rep. Carl Sciortino led a bunch of folks out of overcrowded Orleans to Joshua Tree around 11:40. Burren wouldn't have had TVs, anyway.

Joshua Tree opened at 11:30, so they would have been ok. I think Redbones was going to open at 11. Kinda weird that bars couldn't/wouldn't open early for this, considering. If I wasn't so concerned about parking, I would have gone to Harvard Sq. Tonight I'm going to Central to hang with friends and get drunk.

yeah, it was quite crowded at orleans. i showed up a little before 11am and barely was able to get a table... it was a good time, though. (side note: i needed a table as i was bringing my 18 month old son, and meeting two other new moms with their babies, otherwise, standing room would have been fine)
