Get Involved with Theatre@First
Aug. 5th, 2004 10:11 pmAre you organized? Responsible? Bored? Been thinking it would be
cool to get involved in theatre, but not sure what you would do? Have
I got the volunteer opportunity for you!
Theatre@First, the newest community theatre group in Somerville, MA,
needs an Ad Sales Manager. We've been limping along, gaining momentum
our last two shows. We've done a fair bit of local outreach, we've
got a database, we've even managed a few sales. But we're tired of it
being the lowest priority on three people's lists and we'd like to
make it the number one priority for someone.
What we mean when we say "Ad Sales" - For each of our shows, there is
a program. In that program we can print ads. We'd like to build a
solid base of community organizations interested in supporting the
local arts scene by buying that space.
What we mean when we say "Manager" - Someone to keep track of the Ad
Sales process. Someone to take the database of places we've already
asked, identify which of those are worth asking again and where else
we could be asking, hand out assignments to cast members willing to do
initial contacts and follow-up calls (maybe even do some follow-up
calls yourself), and then keep track of the information generated and
sales made so the next person can pick up the task smoothly.
While we would love to find someone who'll be excited to do this
indefinitely, right now we're focused on finding someone to get us
through our fall show, Murder in the Cathedral. Our production team
is forming up now and it would be great if we could fill in that blank
on our roster.
By the way, this does not in any way prevent you from auditioning for
the show, if you have the time to wear a couple of different hats.
If you would like more information about Theatre@First, check out our
website. We're a fun, friendly group
of people, always happy to slide down and make room for more on the
bench.
If you are interested, drop me a line. If you know of people who
might be interested, please forward this message to them and have them
get in touch.
