Home contractor recommendations?

We're looking for someone to do some minor carpentry and painting around our house (fixing hole in eves, repainting outside trim, installing hand rails on front steps). We have one estimate but we'd like to get at least one more. Have you worked with someone recently that you were particularly happy with?
