Davis Area Free Films - 3/29 to 4/5
Mar. 29th, 2009 10:23 amThere is something that happens after Spring Break at Tufts. Suddenly, the student clubs remember all the activities they promised to their members and the folks who give them funds to operate. The result -- a flood of films on campus for us to enjoy. Expect to see even more films in the coming weeks, some on very short notice.
Tufts Film Series will show "A Touch of Spice" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" tonight and "W" and "Frost/Nixon" next weekend.
Other highlights:
* The US premiere of the documentary "The Liberators of Bulgaria" will be held in Medford Center today at 4 pm.
* The Tufts German House Monday night film series will show "Aimee & Jaguar".
* The Tufts Anthropology Department will show "Live From Bethlehem" on Monday with the filmmaker in attendance.
* Students At Tufts Acting for Immigrant Rights will present "El Norte" on Thursday at 8 pm.
* The Tufts Convergence Conference will show "Today the Hawk Takes One More Chick" on Friday at 8:30 pm with the filmmaker in attendance.
* The Romance Language Department will screen "Don't Move" on Sunday as part of their Italian Film Series and "Tell No One" as part of the French Film Series.
I'll keep my eyes open for more screenings and let you know.
See the complete Boston-area calendar online. There are two ways to access it:
• Directly through the link Boston Free Films
• Add the calendar through Google Calendar. Search for Joe’s BFF – Boston Free Films (any phrase should find it) and you can incorporate it with your own calendar.
The best place to keep up-to-date on Tufts happenings is Tuftslife, where most student events are listed. The official school calendar at Tufts Calendar will also show some school events as well.
Check for last minute updates or contact the organizers to make sure events are still happening, especially in case of inclement weather. To find your way on campus, check out the map: http://inside.tufts.edu/compass/
