Break-in and suspect description

On Friday, March 27th the Tufts University Department of Public Safety sent out a Safety Reminder in response to several reports of property crimes occurring on and around campus recently. On Saturday night a Breaking and Entering was reported at a campus residence. The following are the details of the incident along with reminders of how to help keep yourself and your property safe.
On 3/28/09 Tufts University Police recieved a report of a breaking and entering. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Whitfield Road in Somerville Ma. The suspect entered the house through an unlocked rear bedroom window on the 1st floor. The suspect attempted to take a backpack and lap top, but left the items when confronted by a resident. The resident was not injured. The victim stated the suspect fled out the front door and got into the passenger side of a white or light grey F-250 style pick-up truck with ladder racks, a single orange light on the cab and a silver "Job box" style tool box in the truck bed, behind the cab.
The victim described the suspect as follows:
* A white male with short grey curly hair, clean shaven
* Approximately 5'10" tall, about 50 years old
* Wearing a dark wimdbreaker and a dark baseball cap
An area search was conducted by Tufts Police and Somerville police, to no avail. At this time, no suspects have been identified.

*Secure all entrances into your home or apartment, this includes doors, windows and bulkheads.
