I give you, the unofficial DSLJ T- Shirt.

Link Here

If there is a style of shirt on spreadshirt that you'd like the "slogan" placed on, just let me know, I can get to it this evening once I'm home from work. I put this together last night and sent it to [livejournal.com profile] closetalker11 for approval, since they did "say" it first.

The url on the back is the old groups style for LJ, but one I find more aesthetically pleasing. I'm not taking a cut off the top for these at all, the whole string of conversations that brought this into being filled me with glee, and I just wanted to do something silly with it.

Enjoy, if you like.

The back says davis_square.livjournal.com . You probably want to fix that before you print and sell any of these.

Thanks. I'm a bit confused by the two genders being 'Men' and 'Juniors', though ;-)

Spreadshirt offers Women's and Plus size shirts, too (though the "plus" isn't very "plus"--the "3x" shirt is about the equivalent of a size 18, which is kind of silly when the average size is 14).

I want a women's one! I just get XL and they fit fine.

Oh, I already bought the blue ringer women's style. But if black shirts were available, I'd buy another!

That would be good! A lot of us wear black because of our bitter, dark hearts. :-)

The rest of us wear black because it hides stains.

I also wear black because it hides fat. :-)

'Women' is now a size rather than a gender?

Date: 2009-04-03 09:15 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] icecreamempress.livejournal.com
It's a size category, yes.

"Junior" sizes are cut more narrowly, especially through the bust and hips (though the latter isn't that applicable for a t-shirt) because they're in theory designed for teenaged girls, hence the name.

"Misses" and/or "Women" are cut somewhat fuller through the bust and hips because they're in theory designed for women over 20.

"Plus" (and sometimes "Women" is used to denote this category) are larger sizes.

Depending on the rubric, sizes generally go "Junior"/"Women"/"Plus" (which is what Spreadshirt does) or "Junior"/"Misses"/"Women" (where "women" means "plus").

It is much more confusing to buy women's clothing than it is to buy men's clothing.

Does [livejournal.com profile] closetalker11 get a % of the profit? :)

So you could say he's getting 100% of the profits...

I was pretty much certain that I was going to get called out on this but figured I'd just say nothing and hope no one noticed...

USED ESPECIALLY FOR YOU, BECAUSE YOU ARE SUPER FAMOUS! If Bea were in this comm, she would order your quote printed on a polyester pantsuit that covered her from throat to ankles.

While we're on the subject of T-shirts, here's another Davis related one. (http://davis.spreadshirt.com/us/US/Shop/) Available only in Blue.

Two words: vector art. They have a printing process where, if you submit vector art, it's actually cut out of a solid piece(s) of plastic and stuck on to the shirt as opposed to being printed in half-tones like a bitmap. Works great and produces good looking shirts which stand up to washing (for about a year now).

There are some annoyances like the inability to scale vector art arbitrarily, but once you get it to work, the results are quite nice.

also check out zazzle.com - i have nothing to do with them but a livejournal friend of mine who is crafty just recently tried them and found them [in her opinion, obviously] to be better than spreadshirt or cafepress.

in case you're looking :D

I'm thirding the "better print quality than CafePress" school of thought.
