Good places?

Hi all! I'm brand new here (moved on Wednesday from Seattle) and I live in between Porter and Davis Square. What are some cool places to check out. Stores, restaurants, coffee shops, anything really. I'm a vegetarian, so any good veggie restaurant suggestions would be appreciated too. Of course places in Cambridge or near the Longwood Medical area are good too.

Pemberton Gardens on Mass Ave. looks from the outside like a garden supply store (which is it), but on the inside is an organic/gourmet grocery (which it also is.) Pricy, but great.

Super cheap plates and dishes and stuff: China Fair, also on Mass. Ave.

I use http://www.tuftslife.com/dining heavily to figure out what's still open in Davis Sq.
