Tufts Davis Shuttle to Add Status Monitor at JP Licks

The "Joey", Tufts' student shuttle from campus to Davis Square, will be adding a tracking monitor to JP Licks in the fall.  The shuttle is free and open to anyone who wants to ride it.  The shuttle drops off on Tufts campus in front of the student center and at the academic quad.

Well that's cool. So what do we have to do to get them to make a "stop" in Teele Square? ;-)

Wait -- you don't have to be a Tufts student to take the shuttle?

Hmmm. I live right by Tufts's main campus and the T has sucked for getting me into the square lately. I'll have to bear that in mind.

Does it pick up or drop off all along its route? If not, I don't really understand why it goes to Teele Square and back on the way to Tufts.

No dropoffs at all until campus. I think the trip to Teele is more about easy routing. It picks up at the statues across from the Holland entrance to the T. There isn't any easy route that can accommodate a shuttle bus other than driving straight to Teele.

Is it much louder than other modern buses? If so, you should complain to Tufts about it.

You can request to be dropped off at the TAB building on Holland Street, but it's not much harder to walk there from Davis.

I'm a grad student at Tufts and ride the thing far too often. It's been a huge pain because it never runs on schedule, and the current online tracking system (http://joey.tufts.edu) doesn't help because there's no GPS device on some of the buses they use (e.g., today).

Plus, it's generally crowded with undergrads gabbing on their phones.
