Is anyone else getting [Somerville Snow Alert] emails from 2006?

Apparently street cleaning started on April 3rd that year and on the 4th, trains ran through Davis Station WITHOUT STOPPING. It was a mad mad world.

You're not the only one. Though at first, all I saw was the first part of the subject line that said "Somerville Snow Alerts," which made me sad because I thought we were finally done with this snow thing for the year.

The best part of those has been this line from the sig: "The City of Somerville is sending this notification as a courtesy only and accepts no liability for the timeliness or reliance thereon." I think over three years is a little excessive, ne? ;)

No, but just today I received the confirmation link from my attempt to sign up for the snow alert emails in November.

There's a short announcement on the city website:

April 16, 2009

E-MAIL DATABASE SYSTEM MALFUNCTION

At approximately 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 16th, several e-mails were delivered to customers via the City's previous "SnowAlert" database, with reminders about street sweeping and MBTA issues, with a date of 2006.

Please note that this e-mail was not distributed by City officials, but was the result of a system malfunction through an outside vendor. We are currently researching the error, and apologize for any confusion or miscommunication.
