Now that we have returned to the late night BBQ season, I was thinking about actually setting up some sort of lighting in my back yard so that we aren't grillin' in the dark.  I'm not a fan of the one glaringly bright backyard light and was wondering what other people have set up in their yards in the area.  Any recommendations for places to look  for fixtures/lanterns in the area?  I've tried solar lanterns in the past, but they seem to run out of juice quickly and don't appear to give quite enough light off.

Any suggestions would be appreciated :)

I'm all for enforcing the no grills on a porch rule. We've got way too many irresponsible folks living in our neighborhood that leave the grill unattended for long periods of time as flames shoot up and out. There's also piles of ash (like, 8 inches high) under one of them. I'd rather not have my whole neighborhood go up in flames because some stoner forgot he was making burgers.
That rule makes sense to me.

As for lighting...that's a tough one. I've been curious about the same thing. The one backyard light is not at all what I enjoy for nighttime yard lighting. I would guess some sort of lantern/christmas light set up might work decently.

My neighbors, whose backyard faces my bedroom, have a gigantic light set up in their backyard of the sort you might use when lighting a film set. Don't be like my neighbors. I think lanterns sound nice.
