Thanks for posting this! Can you add, before the lj-cut, the names of all four participating towns? (Otherwise Somerville residents may skip over it not realizing they can participate.)

Thanks! How did you hear about this event? This is the first I've heard of it.

I live in Somerville. Our city government is usually pretty good about announcing such information to the public, but they've said nothing about this -- even though it's happening in Somerville.

(what? her last name is really Mail?)

OMG this is awesome. Time to clean out the pile of computer equipment in the basement for real!

Would be nice if you offered it to freecyclers or gb-reuse first!

I'd rather see things like this put back in service or repurposed than getting compacted and melted down ...

But if what you have is SOOOOO OLD (e.g. a perfectly good printer that only speaks DIN-8) nobody wants it, this is a good option... I hope! I dunno; maybe I should save it for the Davis Square yard sale. Now I'm not sure...

You never know -- people reading http://boston.craigslist.org/zip will take some really old stuff. So will people walking by if you leave it at the curb in a high-traffic area.

It's a mailing list like the various freecycles, but has its roots in the MIT reuse mailing list.
