Anyone who's talked to me recently has probably heard me blather on about "the roaster in Arlington" who produces extraordinary coffee for cafes. This Sunday they're finally going to start serving coffee in the shop, rather than just selling beans and equipment.

http://www.barismo.com

The grand opening of the barismo kiosk will be on Sunday 21 June, from noon to 6pm. 169 Mass Ave is just over the Arlington border, right on the 77 bus and close to the Minuteman. Lots of free coffee, both espresso and manual pour-over methods, with demonstrations by master roaster Jaime van Schyndel.

(If you've heard anything positive about Simon's Coffee Shop --- and there's been quite a bit --- it's because Jaime was managing it for the explosive growth phase. Now they serve his coffee.)

Disclaimer: I do have some personal economic interest in this business, in a somewhat recent development. I promise it's because I enjoy their product and not vice-versa. The only difference from what I'd have otherwise posted is this disclaimer.

As a totally dis-interested (financially or socially) party, I can vouch for the fact that they roast The Best Coffee I've ever tasted.
If you appreciate good coffee, do yourself a favor and drop by.

Cool! I drive by it sometimes on the way to work when I am avoiding 16 to get to RT2 however there is never any parking. It has a steady stream and I always want to try it. Now there is more reason to try to get in :)

I'll check it out. What does it mean to call this a 'kiosk' -- is it outdoors?

They have decaf beans, certainly =)

I've never been able to find decaf beans on the website, so I figured the roasters were Taking A Stand against decaf.

If you walk into Simons, you can buy a bag of their decaf beans. I've never perused the website.

Well, at a few cups a week, I probably don't represent enough demand to get it on the website. :-) But I'll give it a try the next time I'm near the shop.

The barista at Taste in Newtonville told me to check this place out and I've yet to do so. Glad to know I'll be able to drink the coffee there now too. :-)

Their hours are not clear to me from their website content - one part says "Official retail hours are 12pm to 6pm, Wednesday through Sunday. Occasionally you'll find us here outside that range as well", but not sure that applies to the kiosk?
