Does anyone know of a place/organization that takes things like crutches and braces for reuse? I have some stuff that would cost good coin but I *shouldn't* (knock on wood) be needing again.

The Jaycees, Lion Club, and Rotary Club have been known to collect used eyeglasses for the poor and fixed-income seniors. You may want to check with them.

I feel like a Salvation Army type place would take them...

Contact the Shriners Hospital, if you can. They would most likely take them as well.

As someone who used to work at a food pantry that took clothing and household goods as donations, we never took crutches, so you might want to call ahead. The reason was mostly that people didn't seem to want them, so they always wound up sitting around and taking up space.

There is a charity that takes used crutches and distributes them for free to people who need them in Africa. I don't know much more about the organization.
