Hello, this is just a friendly reminder that one way streets only allow traffic to go in a single direction. Specifically, I am writing about Windom St., which borders Carberry's. It is a one way street that allows traffic to exit onto Elm St. This means that DRIVERS ON ELM STREET CANNOT TURN INTO WINDOM STREET IN ORDER TO GET THEIR COFFEE FROM CARBERRY'S. For the second day in a row I have had to swerve out of the way of oncoming traffic going the wrong way on this street. It's a fucking one way street people. If you're on Elm St. and want to go to Carberry's, either find parking on Elm St., or if you're desperate to park on Windom St., go up Elm to Russell, turn right onto Russell, and right again onto Summer St., and then turn right onto Windom St., where you will be obeying the one way sign.
A waning: I'll be taking down the license plate number of the next asshat who decides to go the wrong way up Windom St. You have been warned.

Date: 2004-09-23 09:24 am (UTC)I got it from a friend who makes up wonderful insults. Her newest is "dumbassitate", which is the male hormone that causes people to become dumb-asses.
Enjoy :)

Date: 2004-09-23 11:29 am (UTC)You might also ask Carberry's to post a sign near their counter reminding their patrons to respect traffic laws. Generally, places like that really want to avoid having hassles with the locals (i.e. you) when it comes to problems created by their customers (always a good idea when licensing issues and whatnot comes up). Bringing it to their attention can help.
The police actually like this sort of thing.
Date: 2004-09-23 01:41 pm (UTC)Let your local police know about it. The medford police at least were happy to station a cop there for a while. It was like a license to print money just standing around and handing out tickets, until the garage got the hint and started herding it's customers better.
Maybe the same sort of thing can be done there to Carberry's?

Date: 2004-09-23 01:49 pm (UTC)Can you picture the police station handing out this assignment:
Dispatch: I need a cop to go stand in front of a coffee shop to....
Every cop in Somerville : ME ME ME I Want this job!
heh :)
