I don't remember seeing a post on this so I thought it might be good info for someone looking for a commercial space. My grandmother called to order a pizza a couple of weeks ago from the fairly new Marino's pizza and there was a message saying they had closed and thanking people for their business. It is sad they had to close they really weren't there that long.

Any ideas what would come in and be a nice addition to the neighborhood? I really hope it is not more pizza or a convenience store.

When they opened, it seemed a bit odd with three pizzerias already within spitting distance. I was hoping they would distinguish themselves somehow but alas, no. I'll be curious to see what goes in there.

(And as long as we're in the area, obCheers for Guru!)

Agreed, but the 3 convenience stores in Teele that are within ... um, what's closer than spitting distance?... touching distance of each other is even more odd... but yeah.

Oh, I agree. Last I took note of them, the new one still hadn't put out a real storefront sign, either. Wonder how they're doing.

Was this Marino's related to the Marino's restaurant on Mass Ave that's been closed for a while? I can't eat pizza but it was nice to have a pizzeria so close by.

I asked them that the first time I went in there for pizza. They said no relation.

the area could benefit from some type of convenience store. like a spa, but with fewer offerings.

It lasted longer than the Metro PCS. In my time on earth, that place set a record for fastest closing business.

I'm glad to hear that, since cell phone stores are a blight in any neighborhood.

I once tried to talk somebody at city hall into the idea that when someone applies for a business license for a pizzaria or convenience store, the city could approve it but tell them "really, there are too many of those in the city, your business will probably not survive the competition, we would like to suggest that you'd be more successful doing something else", but they got all bent out of shape about it and wouldn't listen to me. Perhaps we should all try making this suggestion to our aldermen?
