hi everyone! this is my first post. exciting.

i am about to join aetna advantage's student dental insurance program. i have to choose my primary care dentist, and was wondering if anyone has recommendations. i live near davis/porter so someone nearby would be great.

here are a few that seem close-by (actually they're all at the same address). does anyone go to them, or know of others accepted by aetna advantage that are nearby/not scary?

thanks :)

Babo, Nastela, DMD
Istanbullu, Tayfun, DDS
Garcia, Reina, DMD
Chang, Emily DDS
Pladziewicz, John A., DMD
1696 Mass Ave, Cambridge 02138

ps: does anyone know the difference between a DMD and a DDS?

DMD: Doctor of Dental Medicine
DDS: Doctor of Dental Surgery.
This site tells you the difference. (http://www.drsimonrosenberg.com/d_m_d__versus_d_d_s_.html)

Also, I don't know if she takes Aetna, but if she does, I cannot recommend Lorna Lally and Dr. Baker enough. Both are very nice, very gentle dentists and their office is incredibly comfortable for a dentist's offce and they're super close by Davis.

I tagged this 'dentist'. You may want to look through old posts to see people's reviews and recommendations.

I have a different Aetna plan, and it's accepted at Dental Arts Associates on Highland, right in Davis. You might want to research whether the type of plan makes a difference, but I really like both Drs. Moggadam (sp?) and Izedian there. Highly recommended.

Dr. Lorna Lally is great! She's on College Ave, right outside Davis.

Dr. Nastela Babo is very nice.

However, the dental hygienist who I see at her office, is not. At my appointment in May, she was literally scraping down my gums. When I went to rinse out my mouth, I spit out pure blood. I walked home that day throbbing in pain.

I've never had that happen to me before, and it's not going to happen again. I'm switching dentists.
