Hello Davis Square on the internet machine! First time, long time.

I draw a weekly comic strip called Big Fat Whale, and I've been drawing it from my Davis HQ for almost 3 years. I finally got my act together and made a gigantic printed collection of the strip, called Fun Stuff for Dum-Dums. Blah, blah, blah. Long story short, I thought it would be fun to do a booksigning/comic slideshow in my own neighborhood, instead of some stuffy bookstore that doesn't even have a decent comics section.

So it'll be at the Burren this Saturday, August 29th, 4-7pm. Free, but with a cash bar.

As a bonus, my pal and Malden's own Keith Knight, (the K Chronicles, (th)Ink, The Knight Life) is back in town from LA and will be joining in on the fun.

Hope to see you there, and does anybody know where I can get a burrito and if this airplane noise is normal?

Any chance you'll repeat this elsewhere? I bet Hub Comics in Union Square would be interested.

Absolutely! I'd love to do this every couple of months. It's far more rewarding than just sending comics out into the aether. If enough folks show up Saturday, I hope to make a more regular thing out of it.

Would love to come see you if I can! I grew up in Davis Square, (though live a million miles away now...ok, well, only 50), and it's so neat to see what's happening there now! And, my son is going to be majoring in Media Arts and Animation starting in a coupld weeks--would love for him to see what he can do if he sets his mind to it meet you!

Oh, and yes, the airplane noise is normal. As for the burrito, isn't there a new Chipolte in the square? If not, I seem to remember passing by some Mexican resturaunts on Mass ave. Good luck and let us know what you found!

Yeah, although lower page counts frequently cause it to get bumped from the print edition.
