Nope, but I'm heading over to Porter right now, so I'll stop by :)

No, I hadn't seen it, but I will probably go later today.

This is gonna be a good one, folks.

These are the same people who ran the really nifty independent bookstore in downtown Concord, Mass., for a long time and were, somehow, forced out.

This is the kind of bookstore we need, and it's at a T stop. Boo-yah.

I stopped in there yesterday.

It looks pretty good, though since they've just opened they haven't received all the books they ordered yet. The staff seem to care about books as books and not interchangable-objects-for-sale, which pleases me.

I stopped in and it's really quite nice. They don't have their full inventory in yet, but they will, and in the meantime they have an especially nice selection of children's books. An independent bookstore is always a good thing in these days of MegaSuperMondoBookstore.coms, so I plan to stop in there often.

It's also nice that there's now a Radio Shack in Porter. Very convenient.

I stopped in last Wednesday, and while they were still waiting for shipments, what they had looked very well chosen. We needed a good (not Buck a Book) bookstore in the neighborhood. They certainly look good.

I live right by there and have been walking past the "work in progress" for about two months now...looks like it just opened in the past few days (on Monday they were still setting up), and it looks awesome, but I haven't been in there yet. Every time I've walked past there lately, it's been either too late or too early and they weren't open.

But yes, we needed that a helluva lot more than we needed that stupid old lady dress shop that was in there.

They apparantly opened on Tuesday, and while their shelves are still noticably empty, I found quite a few books in the gardening section that Brans&Snoble didn't have (I do landscaping).

They were unpacking more boxes in the back room, and the staff was quite friendly. I like the atmosphere, and it made a good first impression (keeping in mind there are more books to come to fill the shelves).

I think they may have just been opening when I got there... around 11.

stopped in this morning, very excited that (to quote a friend) "there's a bookstore opening, not closing!" It seems quite nice, though I plan to go back when there are more books.

yay books!

woo-hoo!

Went in yesterday. I got all warm and fuzzy when I saw they had a copy of John Rawls' Theory of Justice. Also a book about how to knit teddy bears. Can't wait to see what they'll have once the shelves fill up!

I stopped in there last Friday. The shelves were still fairly empty, but the people seemed nice. They did seem to have a fairly large children's section too. I'm hopeful that they'll fill in the gap that Wordsworth's seems to be in danger of leaving.

It's a nice store! I've just scheduled an event there:

On Sunday, November 21 in the afternoon I'll be performing music and reading from my novel THOMAS THE RHYMER. I'm also hoping to have a Mystery Musician Guest (possibly a harper)!

Do come, please, and tell friends. I think the event will be from 2-3 pm, but please check my website for details:
