davis_squarehi all, I wanted to report another mugging on Powder House blvd late friday night / early saturday morning. $10 was stolen along with a purse, wallet and cell phones from two victims. the crime is under investigation at the moment and may or may not be linked to the other recent incidents in the area.
I wanted to post this to reiterate that Teele square is NOT an unsafe neighborhood, nor should we make it become that by avoiding it out of fear. as was said in an earlier post the goal is to make it unsafe for muggers, not for those of us who live and work there. the potential theft of a cell phone or driver's license is NOT worth sacrificing security and being afraid to go out in your own neighborhood at night. safety in numbers, be mindful of what you have on you, and consider a fake wallet to throw. these kids are NOT professionals in the least.
