'Never After' just had a stupendous opening last night with huge audience. "Smashing!" "Stunning" "Truly, truly lovely"
And there's only one more show! 3pm today, Somerville Theater main stage- that's 55 Davis Square.

'The Lesbian Fairytale Musical' is smart and sassy, with an array of dynamic, heartwarming characters. It's got Fairies, princesses, dragons, knights, bandits, merry men... action, adventure, love. It'll brighten up your rainy day!

Here below is general show info, website is NeverAfterMusical.com and for online tix sales, go directly here.

Penned by Somerville's own Colleen Campbell, it's a toe-tapping and truly homegrown feel-good time.
See it right here at home, before it one day soon hits the Big Screen(yes, it's also a screenplay).

"Never After: Not Your Grandmother’s Fairytale Musical"
An original musical fairytale comedy, performed in concert
Shows September 26 & 27 at the Somerville Theater

Written & Composed by Somerville’s Colleen Campbell
Stage Direction by Elizabeth Hunter; Music Direction by Thom Whittemore

Never After is the story of Princess Lesley Ann, fated from birth to be a lesbian. Ill-suited to her role as a fairytale princess, Les leaves the kingdom of Generica to search for adventure. Along the way, she makes friends in unlikely places, fights dragons, finds her true love, and discovers her own indomitable strength. And she starts a revolution along the way!

If anyone's on the fence, you should absolutely go. I saw it last night, and it's a great show!

Does anyone know if there's likely to be a recording that's available for purchase? I had several friends with unbreakable commitments both last night and this afternoon, and I enjoyed it tremendously.

(Also, several of the songs are stuck in my head now...but lacking a complete version of the song, I can't seem to evict them.)

There was some discussion tonight about recordings, though it was among the cast and orchestra and did not include any official word. The information I received was that in a few months (3), a recording and video would be available.

Which songs do you have stuck? I was in the pit orchestra and can sing most of them.

I want men, men, men, men, I need men, men, men, men, I like men, men, men, men who leave me alone...

And the Very Merry Men song, which I want to listen to repeatedly so that I can properly appreciate it, much like the Modern Major General G&S song.
