Director of Day Programs

Come join our team of dedicated professionals! Walnut Street Center, Inc. is a non-profit, human service agency providing day habilitation, employment, residential and individual support services to adults with developmental disabilities in the Somerville, Arlington and Cambridge communities. We are currently seeing qualified applicants for the position of Day Programs Director located at our 35 Charlestown Street, Somerville location.
This position is responsible for directing all aspects of the agency's day programs which include day habilitation, supported employment and community employment. This includes, ensuring programs fully meet requirements and standards set forth by our regulatory agencies and goals set forth by the Walnut Street Center, serve as the main contact for the regulatory agencies (Department of Developmental Disabilities, Mass Health, etc.) staff supervision, budget monitoring, development and maintenance, program development and growth, relationship maintenance and cultivation with stakeholders (families, businesses and the community), serve as a member of the Walnut Street Center's Executive Team, Inter-disciplinary Team, Clinical Team and others as assigned and participate in fundraising activities.
This position has five direct reports and oversees allied health consultants (OT, PT, SLP) as needed.
This position reports to the Executive Director.
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Social Services or a related field, Master's Degree in related field is a plus. 7-10 years of mangement experience in a Day Program serving adults with developmental disabilities, 10-15 years of experience working within a human service environment, knowledge of regulatory requirements as they relate to Day Habilitation Programs, knowledge of Department of Developmental Disabilities (formerly DMR) standards and regulations, extensive supvervisory experience, ability to time manage, multi-task, communicate effectively with staff, families, guardians and other stakeholders, excellent project management skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, proficiency in MS Office, a positive, can-do attitude and a sense of humor are an absolute must!
