Curious if anyone has some extra earbuds they'd let me borrow for a month or two while I'm doing some stimulating data entry?
Preferably of the non-circular variety, J-shaped or just really small as the average larger ones refuse to stay in my ears... I know it's kinda icky to share something like that, but I know a lot of them do come with different sizes so hopefully some normally ear-sized person has solely been using the mediums.

for the back story, I tried to get some $10 usb drive/player and have taken it back already and tried it on 3 computers with no luck and I don't want to purchase an actual MP3 player if I can't even download music... nor do I want to drop $20 when I'm just looking to listen to pandora for a month (it'd be that much because as previously mentioned I hate the circular ones, nor do I want the $2 amazon shitty-sounding ones to break as all the reviews promise). lastly I'm not seeking headphones cuz they press into my glasses and give me headaches.

it's just too annoying to take anymore so I thought the ol dslj was worth a shot :)
apologies for the extended explanations for something so minimal!

I cannot lend you my earbuds but...

I have a few toothpicks I used only once, if you want to borrow them :)

You can get ear buds for under $15 at CVS:

http://www.cvs.com/CVSApp/catalog/shop_product_detail.jsp?filterBy=&skuId=112586&productId=112586&navAction=jump&navCount=3

I don't have any to lend out, but there are earbuds out there that are on the cheaper side.

There's more in the actual store; my point was just that you don't have to spend too much on ear phone that you're only using for a month and never again.

and surely you'll still like listening to music after one month?

Once I figured out what was actually being asked here, this is the issue that confused me most of all. Or rather, I don't understand how someone could have high enough standards that a cheap pair of earbuds won't suffice, yet be uninterested in music enough that they won't be listening to it anymore after a month.

i had this hope that somebody had some lying around that they never used because they upgraded standard ipod buds themselves.

You know, if you had just said that in the first place, your request wouldn't have seemed nearly as weird.

In fact, let me reword your post for you so that people would've actually understood what you were asking and why:

"Does anyone have a spare pair of earbuds they're not using that they might be willing to give up (or lend out)?

Backstory: I normally can't listen to music at work, and have no need for earphones otherwise. However, I have this 1-2 month data-entry project that I'm working on, for which I'm allowed to listen to music. But I can't really justify the expense of buying earbuds, since I won't need them again. So I was hoping someone out there might've upgraded from the earbuds that came with their mp3 player (or something like that) and might have a spare pair that they don't need, or can live without for a little while.

The only potential problem is that my ears are kind of small, so normal-sized ones might not work. And I don't want headphones because they squeeze my head and give me headaches. Anyway, I know it's a longshot, but I figured I'd try."

I usually don't send the post rewrites I type out. You took it to the next level! FTW!

I'm really not sure why I did. Too much time on my hands yesterday, I guess (or possibly too much other stuff to procrastinate on.).

For $10, you can get a decent pair at RadioShack:

I use these at work, and they've served me well.

And Radio Shack is a 10-minute walk away, in the Porter Sq shopping center.

I also have the same issue with my ears, so I hear you on the whole small size ear bud thing. I was majorly pissed when I dropped good money on an ipod and the damn buds don't even fit in my ears.

However, I've been able to find cheap, good earbuds at best buy. Why scrimp on something that goes in your ear? It's not like it's toothbrushes or underpants, things I find great deals on at yard sales.

LOL.

you aren't paying for the earbuds, obviously. most people don't use them for a long list of reasons. there are way better headphones out there anyway :)

i can't wear any earbuds due to piercings, so i have plenty of those cheesy earbuds lying around somewhere...or maybe i even just threw them out.

It's kinda surreal, childish, creepy, all at the same time. On top of that, it has the weird ear wax imagery. Absolutely brilliant.

I once bought $2 headphones at Family Dollar. They were comfortable and worked fine and lasted way longer than expected. Only two dollars.
