In Central Square, there's Pearl Arts and Crafts, and another art supply store directly across the street from it and down a set of stairs (but I forget its name). I know the latter store has fabric dye; Pearl also may.
They have less and less selection, though, these days, and some don't carry the liquid versions at all (just the powder, which can be made into a liquid, though...).
TAGS/Ace Hardware probably carries some RIT too, as does the Star/Shaws supermarket, in Porter. And Rite Aid has just a few colors of RIT.
But Pearl has plenty, and not just RIT, but the more professional stuff, too.
In addition to the places mentioned, there is also the craft store in Arlington Center (name...?).
fwiw - depending on what you are dying and what results you want, you may not be satisfied with RIT dyes. RIT is a "hot water" dye and the resulting colors are not very brilliant and tend to leech/fade with each washing. Procion dyes are "cold water" reactive dyes - the dye molecule bonds with the fabric molecules resulting in more brilliant + permanent colors.
If you don't want to go to Central's Pearl (they also have iDye at Pearl, btw), you consider Stellabella on Mass Ave., where you can find a "Tie Dye Kit!" for kids with some good (I think Procion) dyes inside. Henry Bear's Park in Porter may, too. You won't have your choice of colors, but you will get some handy tools for dying. It's not as good as Pearl, but it's much closer.
Pearl is yes & no--they seem to restock things slowly, so sometimes there's a good choice sometimes not much. Windsor Button at Downtown Crossing (Boston) should have a good supply.
