boots stretched?

Does anyone know if Savas Shoe Repair on Elm Street does shoe stretching? I have two pairs of boots, one needs the vamp (instep) stretched and the other needs the caft stretched. Neither are fully leather but canvas should also stretch with a stretcher..

If Savas doesn't do this, does anyone know any place that does? I looked into buying my own stretchers, but that would be around 300 dollars for both.

I recently took my boots to Savas for calf enlargement. He said they couldn't be stretched, but he could put in an elastic insert. It was cheap ($40), but he did a very messy job: glue showing, crooked edges, etc. Maybe I should have insisted he do it over again, but I didn't want to take the chance of it coming out worse.

He's stretched several pairs of shoes for me very successfully. And for a VERY reasonable price, too.

Good to know, I too am looking for a place to get 2 pairs stretched, and a zipper repaired. I'll have to stop by there.
