I was just getting ready to go to vote this morning when my boyfriend IM'd me from work and said that Ciampa had been just behind him in our line to vote at the PHC school down the street. (Because he lives two streets from us)

I said "Well, did you spit on him?"

He said he didn't, apparently the reporters were in the way.

Anyone else see this phenomenon this morning?

I hate Ciampa. I voted for Sciortino at the firehouse on Broadway and made sure to thumbs-up and give good wishes to the folks holding signs for Sciortino. If Ciampa wins, I'll start sending HIM annoying letters every day, how would he like that! :-)

You should tell us what those words were with Ciampa's wife that time!

You'd only be serving his cause by doing that.

"Look how low the Force of the Homer-sexual Lobby Will Go! Defacing my house!"

Better to just motivate to get people voting and defeat his stupid write-in.

I just called the # on his dumb ass mailings and it was his home number! I asked if there was an office I could call but she said I could talk to her, so I proceeded to tell her how, as a resident of Somerville, I disapproved of her husband's homophobic smear campaign, etc. She tried to interject to say that Ciampa didn't start it, to which I incredulously replied "Yes he did." Then she asked me where I lived (I said Winter Hill, Somerville) and my name (which I stupidly provided) and she said she'd tell my husband I had called.

I predict a brick through my window at any moment.

The smear campaign really began with the Article 8 Alliance's contention that Sciortino won the primaries because of a vast, secret, homosexual agenda.

Assuming that theirs wasn't the number you dialed, technically speaking, she would be correct.

Well kiss my grits! You may be right. Hee.

Maybe I should give Ciampa's wife a conciliatory call after her husband loses today...

I'm still curious if the Article 8 Alliance has as much trouble with national groups who are against same sex marriage (Friends of Family comes to mind) contributing funds and otherwise mucking around with MA politics as they do the "national homosexual organizations" that have done the same.

No matter how much you dislike a candidate, spitting on him (or wishing you could) while he's in line to vote is really asinine. This is the kind of shit that scares me more than who gets voted in this election - the hatred coming from so many, so-called, "open minded" people.

actually, she can take a joke just fine... it's intolerance she can't stand.

someday, when you're older, you'll understand.

According to people in my neighborhood, I'm the intolerant one. Ah well. What can you do but laugh and press on, right?

Anyone have an idea where to find results as they come in?

I mean, I suppose I could head down to orleans (assuming carl went there again), but I'm lazy. :)

I've been keeping tabs on Yahoo!
Right now, it's Bush 170 to Kerry 112 with Bush carrying 53% of the popular vote to Kerry's 46%.

Thanks, hellgirl. I've been keeping track on a number of places. Does anyone know if the Carl/Vinnie race is being tracked anywhere (the globe and local TV treat it as uncontested/untracked)?

Carl's folks think he won, but I want to see for sure....
