Vej Naturals vegetarian restaurant coming to Davis

I am so so so excited about this I cannot even tell you!

Vej Naturals, a vegan restaurant in a tiny little hole in the wall is coming to Davis...I saw it on Twitter and then went to their website and it was confirmed.

Anybody know exactly where they will be?

Did some digging to remind me of what I'd heard...

I know a place called Pizzeria Posto was planning to move into the space and they'd applied for a liquor license. If they didn't get the license, that would likely make the project unworkable.

There haven't been any Davis Square Task Force updates for a couple of months and that's where I get my updates on such things, so I'm at a bit of a loss. I bet Rebekah would know, though. And of course Ron.

All I know about this is what i read in the Somerville Journal blog, and it says that Pizzeria Posto is coming to the Carberry's space. I have no idea where Vej Naturals is going, as I can't think of any other vacant restaurant space in or near the Square.

And they did indeed get their liquor license.

Well, since they're moving from Malden to "near Davis Square", I wouldn't be terribly shocked if it wasn't right in the middle of things. There is the empty space where Marino's Pizza had a short existence up in Teele, anyway. It would be dangerous to me if they moved in there, but I would be very happy about it. :)

I emailed them yesterday, and apparently the deal is not yet finalized, so they cannot post the address. The location is a 5-minute walk from the T station, and right now there is an existing business in the location that is still in operation.

I'd like to also mention Red Lentil (http://www.yelp.com/biz/red-lentil-vegetarian-and-vegan-restaurant-watertown). It's a new Vegan/Vegetarian restaurant that opened two months ago in Watertown. It's not as close, but easily accessible via the 71 bus from Harvard Square. Their smoothies, cheesecake, burrito and nachos are killer. And I'm a carnivore!

Thanks for posting this -- I saw it a few hours before we did a round of "do we want to go out to eat and if so where?" and we headed over. It was awesome -- a little pricey, but everything was really good.
