Update: I've found a room for rent in Arlington Center, close to the Minuteman Bikeway. Really cool owner, still has another room available. Good for hacker types, I think.

the apt: Sunny, hardwood floors, and recently renovated. Granite countertop, gas stove, and back deck. Rent is $550 per month, plus around $100 in utilities. Security deposit, but no last month's. Landlord is attentive and ethical, but not nosey. Plenty of street parking, no permits. Near Broadway, and therefore MBTA. Near park.

you sound like a great fit for our house (10 mins from Davis, 5 of us in our mid-20s, lots of space, sun, porch, yard, good food and independence) but we don't have any openings in january... good luck! i'll try to find you again if it changes!

apartment off highland avenue

There may be a tentative opening in our apartment. It's a newly renovated three-bedroom, second floor apartment off Highland Avenue, about 3 blocks away from both Porter and Davis T-stops.

We have hardwood floors, granite top countertops, and all kitchen appliances are brand new. We also have a back yard that could use some gardening love as well :) We have exclusive access to the second floor porch. Housemates are one female and one male working professionals their early 20s. The house is generally quiet, and everyone's respectful of the others' need to use the house as a refuge. But we're also a congenial set and like to hang out together at home for weeknight dinners or having a couple of drinks together on weekends.

The lease would run from January to end of August. Rent is $666 per month, without utilities.
