I've had two failed attempts now trying to get good photo prints, once from Rite Aid (from films)in Davis and the other time online from Snapfish (from digital photos). Anyone had any luck bringing in a CD of photos anywhere in/around Davis and getting prints that weren't terrible looking, too dark/light or overly pixelated?

I had a good experience printing digital photos from a memory card at CVS in Davis. I think their little machine/kiosk also had a slot for a CD. I was able to look at all the photos and adjust brightness, red eye, cropping, etc. prior to printing.

I printed two 8x10 photos and they weren't pixelated at all.

I've gotten nice prints from Cameras Inc's online printing service (http://www.camerasinc.com/onlineprinting.html).

me too. Very convenient to upload photos and then walk over when it's ready, service from real people, and reasonable enough prices for my needs.

seconded.
I always got crappy photo quality from rite aid/brooks and CVS

and remember the quality of the print is related to the quality of the picture taken (i'm sure you know this, of course)...

Thirded -- I've also had good luck with them scanning old photos. In one case, I had them make a print of a digital photo, then lost the digital original, and had them copy that print, and it STILL looked good.

another vote for cameras inc. i had concerns about getting prints from digital, and the woman working there went so far as to get a photo from the back room that had been printed from a digital file and show it to me so i could judge its quality (very good). they are great people and actually know something about cameras and photography, unlike some of the people that work at drugstore photo places.

I have had good experiences printing photos from a memory card at the CVS in Porter. They would have been almost certainly toned in Photoshop first.

Cameras, inc! They're super nice, way better than CVS, & right in the square near Mike's. I went there twice just to ask questions about their services before trying them out for some 120 film I needed developed.
