It's just my radiator, which has never worked as long as I've lived there. This will be the third winter. (Ask bwilder or martini_corona, who used to live in that room.) The rest of the radiators in the house work just fine, so the furnace is on and cranking, but for some reason the steam isn't getting to my radiator.
Every time we call my landlord about this, he calls "his" plumber, who pokes around and accomplishes nothing. I know it's his responsibility, but short of a lawsuit there isn't much I can do to make him fix it. So I talked to him last night and told him I would hire a plumber and take the money out of my rent. It's annoying, but it'll never get fixed if I leave it to him.
Call the Somerville Board of Health and let them know what's gone on. They will call the owner and then he'll take care of it, or they will authorize you to do it and deduct it from your rent. Good luck!

Is the furnace on?
And has it been working so far this fall?
