Boston Children's Museum has a Recycle Shop (http://www.bostonchildrensmuseum.org/exhibits/recycle.html) for visitor craft projects. They might take donations.
If only I weren't too lazy to take it that far on the train with 2 kids. Thanks for the good suggestion, though, and I'll keep it in mind. They may even pick up were it a substantial enough donation.
