Where in the Davis Sq area could one get a Christmas-tree stand? particularly, one for a very small tree? Do they have them at CVS/Rite Aid?

thx!

I got my stand at K-Mart in Assembly Square Mall last year. It's not especially designed for a small tree, but they might have a range of sizes available.

I love celebrating both holidays. :-) But I didn't get invited to any Hanukkah parties this year!

People are getting rid of them all the time on Craigslist. Also, thrift shops.

Christmas tree stands are surprisingly hard to find. Big-box stores seem to be sold out. You might have better luck at a garden center (Pemberton Farms?) or one of those pop-up Christmas tree places. We got ours at a garden center after searching several Targets, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, and so on with no luck.

Check shaws?

Also, these popup flash ads on LJ are REALLY obnoxious

Try the Goodwill store first. That's the kind of stuff that turns up there all the time.

Pemberton Farms had 2 or 3 different kinds (sizes) when I was there, and they were fairly cheap.

And if you happen to have the Brown School discount card, you get 10% off garden center stuff. Which I assume this is.

Somerville FreeCycle. I see people giving them away daily.

I would think that Tags would have them. Or at least the materials to MacGuyver one for yourself.

After searching at least a dozen stores last year and almost giving up, I found mine at Tags.

I got my christmas tree (not very small) and tree stand at Ricky's Flower (and Garden) shop in Union Square. They have a variety of tree sizes and tree stand sizes, as well as wreaths and other smallish xmas-tree-looking potted shrubbery. You could give them a call and ask what they have.
