A Little Bit of Beauty

I've been meaning to post this for a long time now, but I just wanted to give a little thank you to the people on College Avenue who leave their Christmas lights up all year. I don't know them and have never seen anyone coming or going from the house, but I always feel a child-like cheer when I walk past that house and the lights are merrily glowing no matter what the season. It's especially pleasant when I walk past on a sweltering August night and enjoy the bit of festivity they're sharing.

I don't imagine they're on LJ, but if they are or if anyone knows who they are, I'm sending out my thanks. :-)

there are definitely people there... I walked past there during one of the Kerry/Bush debates and they appeared to be having a debate party. however, I didn't see anyone coming or going as well, so maybe the people came with the house. ;)

You can't miss it -- it's halfway between Davis and the Powderhouse rotary. The Christmas lights aren't on every single night, but most nights they are.

Ah - yeah! The house with all the shurbs that's sorta awesome-looking and ramshackle? If that's the one, then yeah, that house has cheered me, too.

Isn't it nice? It's sort of pushed back from the street a little more than the other houses, like maybe's it's older than the rest.

Yeah! I love that house - it looks like it's from a fairy-land woodcut, or better yet, a comic book. This town is sorta totally excellent sometimes :)
