Does any one know if any of the multiple food stores in the square have fresh figs? Daves, McKinnons, or Farmer's Bounty? It's kind of cold for me to wander out with the little one just to look, so if anyone knows for sure, it would be helpful.... (I did check Pemberton's when i was out earlier)

I'd very much doubt it since it's not fig season, even in California and Florida, and I can't imagine fresh figs would survive the trip from the Southern Hemisphere. If you really need them, I'd give Russo's a call, but that's a long shot and not within walking distance.

yeah, figured it was a long shot. I don't need them, just thought they would be neat as a stocking stuffer (we always include some sort of fruit in our stockings, and the more unusual the better). Thanks!

ditto, however I have seen them at Farmer's Bounty long after the season was over. I haven't been into there in months.

I think probably none of them have it, but you could also try Sessa's on your wild-goose chase. I've ended up going there last before and finding stuff I thought I'd find at McKinnon's or Farmer's Bounty.

I'm almost sure that last year, near Christmas, I found fresh figs at Formaggio's. But it was a year ago, so I am only *almost* sure.

whole foods had them a few weeks ago. big one in cambridge and the tiny one in medford.
