Hi there,
I'm a vegetarian down with a cold. I live near Davis, does anyone know of a place either within walking distance, or that delivers, where I can obtain vegetarian hot and sour soup? Other yummy vegetarian soups would also be nice. Thanks!

Might want to take a look at Blue Shirt Cafe, which is next door to Mike's Restaurant. They're pretty vegetarian-friendly, and I know they have soups. I'm pretty sure they don't deliver, though.

Here's their menu (http://www.tuftslife.com/dining/menuview.php?ID=00036&pg=1). There's only one soup on there, and it definitely doesn't sound good for when you're sick, but I'd give them a call and ask what they have -- I was there last night, and there was at least one soup special on a sign on the wall (Indonesian, something with squash).

Ahh, yes, I thought it might've been spinach and squash. Thanks.

Au Bon Pain usually has a veggie one, and their soups are pretty ok

The Diesel's soups are yummy, and many of them are vegetarian.

The Ramen place in the Porter Exchange's "Common Market" will prepare vegetarian soups for you. No, it's not hot and sour, but their vegetable ramen or seaweed ramen with appropriate base makes for a pretty impressive meal.

Just a note to be really careful if you're a strict vegetarian to make sure the soup isn't made with chicken broth.

I stopped going to Blue Shirt after this time when I brought home a Thai Tofu wrap and found chicken in the rice part. ICK.

On Mass ave right next to Porter Square, they are the most vegetarian-friendly restaurant I know. They keep a separate veg wok and broth, and will make *any* of their dishes vegetarian. Oh, right, it's a Thai restaurant.

And they deliver.

The hot and Sour soup is Thai, but IMO the best tom yum in the area (and I think Tom Yum beats regular hot and sour for a cold any day...)
