Christmas tree pickup?

Apologies if this has already been discussed, but... is Christmas tree pickup scheduled to occur this year? Orchard Street is rather stacked with discarded trees, and has been for a few weeks; I'm starting to wonder if I need to haul my tree somewhere to be dropped off.

They do pick them up, but the schedule is pretty unpredictable - it's just a DPW truck & not part of the regular trash/recycling pickups. It might be worth a call to 311 to ask if they know Orchard St has been overlooked? - unlike last year when trees were out for a month before being picked up, ours did get picked up the day after we put it out on trash day.

Over here on Willow/Foskett too. I do not think the truck has come yet; ours has been out since Jan 2.

I'd been wondering the same thing and I called 311 a week ago. The operator assured me they were picking up trees this year and told me to put my tree out on the curb with the regular trash -- which is exactly what I had already done, when the trash people threw it back onto my lawn. Hope they pick the trees up soon, since it is a bit annoying to walk around them on the sidewalk. It could help if 311 gets a bunch of calls asking for the trees to be removed.

311 told me the same thing. The conversation was something like this:

311: Yeah, just leave your tree by your trash.
Me: I did, around January 2 -- and so did everyone else on Orchard St. and vicinity. Do you know when they'll be picking them up?
311: It might take awhile, just be patient. It's erratic.
Me: Erratic?
311: Yeah.
