The White Hen Pantry in North Cambridge (corner of Mass Ave. and Day St., next to Pemberton Farms and, AFAIK, the closest 24hr store to Davis Sq.) is GONE.
Sign in the window: "Lost our lease Dec 1. Thanks to all our loyal customers for 15 years of business. Visit the White Hen at [Porter Sq. address]"

Is there a 24hr store -- as opposed to the "Store 18" -- near Davis?

Date: 2004-12-02 08:50 pm (UTC)Today I was passing by at 10pm, and "HOLY COW, THEY'VE BEEN LOOTED!" Everything is gone. OK, there's still some stuff in the freezer cases. But the rest of the stock is gone. Most of the furniture is gone. Most of the central counter is gone. The sign has been removed from the front of the building and the glass removed from the sign out in the parking lot.
