Links, Anything you hear/read that may be of interest. I think THIS, if proven, would get interesting. Could they be so stupid?

"The Senate campaign of Democrat Martha Coakley said this evening that ballots pre-marked for Republican rival Scott Brown have been given out at several polling places across the state."

Edit: It turns out, this is probably nothing of importance (though there may be other cases we don't know about).

I don't consider this post necessary. Let's wait for the election returns, then we can talk about them.

well, some of us are just sitting here biting our nails. maybe this is the digital equivalent of hanging out at the local pub waiting for news.

Or pacing in the waiting room while one's wife gives birth.

I'd like that analogy more if I could stand thinking of myself as married to the Democratic Party. :)

Hmm. True. OK, one's wayward but well-meaning sister.

Can't talk. Too busy drinking heavily.

I think it's probably untrue or insignificant, and basically put out there to plant the seeds for righteous indignation case the results came in close enough to call for a recount.

Also: *sigh*.

Well, think of it this way. Now that Coakley has been thoroughly humiliated, perhaps the Dems will nominate somebody in '12 who can run a real campaign and won't just sit at home, waiting for the coronation.

I feel like getting a "Capuano 2012" bumper sticker right now.

from what I've read about it, it was 2 people who made that claim and the evidence can't be verified. Gavin has totally discounted this claim.

My friend (and yes, actual friend and not "a friend of a friend" or what-have-you) saw somebody in her Brighton precinct get handed a pre-filled out ballot and turn it in for a fresh one, so it was happening, though sounds as though it was isolated.

as I left the ward 4, precinct 1, polling spot, I saw someone sitting in a small, late 80's, early 90's, red hatchback car, parked blocking in a handicapped spot, and some of the inbound vehicular traffic, as he was writing on large pieces of what appeared to be cardboard/poster stock, larger than standard letter paper, maybe near the length of legal sheets.

He had a stack of them in his hands.

As I had somewhere else to go, I didn't think to alert the election officials about his activity, or the SPD officer who was in the polling location, for the driver blocking traffic.

Now, I wish I had, as, in retrospect, the papers/card looked to be about the size of a ballot.

I'm not sure what he was doing, but it could have been premarking ballots, and then trying to get them in the stack of new ballots.

Had I reported it (which I will next time something like that alerts me) maybe we would know.
