davis_squareI know this is not directly Davis Sq. related, but it's nearby. Ebisuya Japanese market is having their grand opening today from 6pm to 8pm http://ebisuyamarket.com/. This is in Medford Sq., right off the last stop of the 96 bus. My understanding is that it is owned by former employees from Kotobukiya in Porter Sq, which closed last year (mentioned in this post: http://community.livejournal.com/davis_square/1928524.html).
I have no idea what they carry, though the website lists sushi and fresh seafood. So I'm excited.

Date: 2010-01-24 02:37 am (UTC)We went today and it was good. It has most of what they used to carry at the Porter Exchange, though it was clear that they're still getting set-up/stocked-up. The store space is a lot bigger than before, and my husband noticed a sushi bar counter-top fridge case (empty) over by the "kitchen" area so we're wondering if they're going to eventually have a sushi bar also.
