Thank you for your interest in the North Massachusetts Avenue Improvement Study! The first public meeting will be held on Thursday, February 25th, at 6:30pm in the Peabody Elementary School Cafeteria, 70 Rindge Avenue, Cambridge MA 02140.

The Community Development Department will be exploring ways to improve the character of North Massachusetts Avenue between Beech Street and the Arlington line, through potential streetscape improvements, possible new zoning and urban design guidelines, and strategies for supporting retail in the area. Come and share your thoughts and concerns regarding North Mass Ave and how it can be improved! Please feel free to forward this information to any others you think might be interested in this process.

The 77 and trackless trolley should be publicized, if more people knew how frequently it ran, people would do a lot more stuff all up and down mass ave

The trackless doesn't run much anymore -- only a few trips each day to get to and from the yard at Cameron Ave. The T (correctly) decided that there was more demand for these vehicles on the lines from Harvard Square to Watertown and Waverley.

Did they actually increase service on the 71 and 73 when they decreased it on the 77A?

I'd like them to electrify the full 77 route to Arlington Heights, assuming the trackless trolleys aren't any slower than the buses.

Given how long it took for the MBTA to convert their fleet to cleaner technology from the old diesel buses, I doubt they will ever convert the whole 77 route to Arlington Heights to electric! (Too bad Arlington did not want Red Line extension back in the day when the extension was built northbound from Harvard to Alewife.)

Yes, that's exactly what happened -- fewer 77A trips meant more frequent 71 and 73 trips.
