Living Social: $15 for $30 at Lyndell's
Feb. 8th, 2010 01:52 pmIf you don't know Lyndell's, you should. Especially their almond meringues if you can eat almonds. Dear lord those are good. I still have a $50 voucher with them, and I'm seriously considering going in and blowing the entire thing on meringues. They are over at the corner of Willow and Broadway (there's a North End location, too, but I've never been because well, I can walk to the Somerville one).
Living Social has a deal where, if 3 people buy off your link, you get the deal for free. In the past when this has happened, I've spent the day changing the URL to the deal - once mine is free, I change the link so that the next person up gets theirs free, and we daisy chain through the community with a dozen or so people all getting things for free. I will be out until about 7pm this evening, though, so here's my link:
BALEET!: please click through on one of the entries in the comments to help a DSLJer out!
I encourage people to post yours below (and don't forget to mark if your deal goes free so others can get it free, too!
If you have never bought from Living Social before, though: follow this link. You will get $5 off your first purchase, making this $10 to get $30 of Lyndell's Goodies.

Date: 2010-02-08 07:22 pm (UTC)I recommend the little heart-shaped Linzer cookies they've got for Valentine's Day. Yum!
The "never bought from" link... ?
Date: 2010-02-08 08:54 pm (UTC)Anyone else having a different experience? What am I supposed to see?
Re: The "never bought from" link... ?
Date: 2010-02-08 09:10 pm (UTC)go here: http://deals.livingsocial.com/deals
if it doesn't take you to boston, click 'other cities' and select boston.
then follow the link to 'never bought before, above'. it should show you as being in Boston. enter your email address, and it will mail you today's deal with a link to it.
Sadly, because I'm already a user of the site, I don't get a referral code. If, when you go to purchase the item, it doesn't give you the $5 off, I'd suggest emailing them and saying, 'I followed https://deals.livingsocial.com/redeem/335590-thespi?ref=lnk and it is not giving me the $5 for a new user'. Their support is usually quite good.
I'm going to write them about that landing page, though, because you are right, it is confusing as heck. If anyone else has had problems, let me know.

Date: 2010-02-08 09:19 pm (UTC)Thanks. That was confusing.
I've signed up. And bought. We'll see what happens with the $5
In any case, if you want to order through my link once everyone else is getting theirs for free...

Re: The "never bought from" link... ?
Date: 2010-02-08 09:33 pm (UTC)They have always been very good about customer service in the past; I once wrote them after they offered a link to a very offensive t-shirt site (they sold shirts that said things like 'Fat Girls are Fun - Until your Friends Find Out'), and they were extremely contrite, and gave me some site credit, and more importantly, they promised they'd do a better job of watching sites for offensive content in the future, and they have.

It would be great if people above would edit or add a comment saying they've received their free offer if they indeed have (so people will know whose links to still use).
