Looking for a roommate
Feb. 13th, 2010 12:41 pmOne of my roommates is leaving us, so I am looking for a replacement.
We have a room available for March or April for $566/month. We are on Hudson St, near Lowell St, situated a mile outside of Davis Square (~15 minute walk), and less than a mile from Porter Square. We are right on the 88 and the 90 bus routes. Also, we are only a five minute walk to the bike path.
We are a male and a female (platonic friends) looking for a roommate for our third bedroom. We are located on the second and third floors of a shared house. The bedroom is spacious, about 16x13 feet, and we have plenty of room in the common areas for furniture. There is a large kitchen, two bathrooms, two porches, and a washer and dryer IN the apartment. There is storage space. There is one off-street parking space that we currently split the cost of, and share--but if you would like it all to yourself, that is a possibility. Heat and electricity are NOT included--this is a big apartment, so in the colder months it costs about $100 a piece for heat. We have wireless, cable internet, though we are ambivalent about cable television. If you want it, we can have it. Kitties are allowed.
The male roommate is a professional writer who sometimes works from home. He is a bit of a geek, likes gaming (video, etc.), movies, ultimate frisbee. The female roommate (that's me) works, takes classes, and is very involved with local theater companies (Theater@First/PMRP). She's more geek-lite, but appreciates the importance of zombie-killing.
We try to keep things straightened, but we are not neat-freaks. We do want someone who will take on some of the very minor responsibilities of apartment-sharing: doing your own dishes, helping to take out the trash, shoveling, etc. We are busy and independent people--but we are very friendly, and fun, and easy-going, and we would probably like to be friends with you.

Date: 2010-02-15 12:23 am (UTC)Ideally, we would like someone to move in on March 1st, because otherwise, we are going to have to eat that month's rent. However, I think you should come meet us and check the place out anyway, because if I really really like you, I'd be willing to do that. Also, my *other* roommate is seriously considering moving out after April, so maybe you could fill in his spot.
Current roommate has asked that we not show his room until after he moves his stuff out of it, which should be by the 20th. Would you be interested in coming by next Saturday or Sunday for a visit? You can e-mail me at thismightbejess(at)gmail(dot)com to set up a time.
