Someone had asked about what was going on in the Square lately. The grande dame of the Square, the Somerville Theatre will be hosting the Liberation Film Festival this Saturday (12/20).
The Festival will run all day, from 1:00 pm to 1:00 am. Several screenings of independent Boston-area film will screen all day. An all-day (and night!) pass is available for $18 from the Somerville Theatre Box Office.
The evening event, "Synthpop & Superhoeroes" features rare live appearances by synthpop darlings Freezepop and Scissorkiss plus screenings of the comic book documentary Sex, Lies & Superheroes and short films by LD Beghtol and Android Lust.
So, come to the Square on Saturday, do your last minute Christmas shopping under sunny skies (Dollar Store, Your Move Games, gift certificates to local restuarants like Redbones), and treat yourself to Boston-are independent film and some great music!
